SUMMIT HOUSE
At Ridge at Kinglake West, the Summit House offers expansive panoramic vistas, showcasing stunning views of the surrounding landscape. From this vantage point, the distant city skyline appears as a discernible point on the horizon. To fully capture these scenic vistas, a straightforward extension was introduced, incorporating a lounge room and studio beneath. A void connects these spaces, seamlessly integrating with the two-story glazed façade, which affords unobstructed views into the valley below. In adherence to the BAL 40 fire resistance standard, the brick façade of the existing structure was extended into the new addition. This architectural continuity serves to bolster the fire resistance of the building. Additionally, the existing building envelope underwent simplification measures aimed at reducing fire risk to a minimum.
