FOX FRIDAY BREWERY
The new Melbourne Brewhouse for Fox Friday, a Tasmanian Beer brand, emerged from the transformation of a former stainless steel workshop. The resulting multifunctional space seamlessly combines a brewery, taproom, and offices. Strategic interventions, such as opening up existing precast elements and connecting building sections, created a distinctive interplay of spaces for various uses.
The new façade screen integrates two pre-existing buildings, providing shade with perforated shutters while offering glimpses of the street. A feature window frames the function room bar, enhancing the vibrant atmosphere, especially in the evening. Entering the taproom through an unassuming door reveals a cozy atmosphere with low ceilings and timber wall paneling. The main taproom, marked by a higher ceiling achieved through a retractable roof system, offers ample natural light during the day and a starry ceiling at night. A transparent glass wall separates the brewery, allowing patrons to observe the brewing process. The adjacent kitchen features an oversized aged metal hood with a distinctive meat smoker, and a centrally positioned fireplace adds to the warm atmosphere.
Collaborating with Studio Y, the interior design firm, we curated a space aligned with the client’s vision for an aged and warm environment. The Fox Friday Brewery in Richmond, Victoria, stands as a vibrant and welcoming space designed for friends to gather, enjoy exceptional brews, and create enduring memories.
